DUBUQUE (KWWL) -- Theisen's announced today that they will open three new stores in Iowa, including a second store in Cedar Rapids that will occupy the former EconoFoods building at 1800 51st Street Northeast.

The Linn County Board of Supervisors were told on November 6, 2009 that the EconoFoods building would no longer be an option for rebuilding the Administrative Office Building because a purchase agreement had already been entered into.

The building is 106,000 square feet, and conversion will begin in Spring of 2010.

A new 102,000 square foot store will be built in Coralville at 100 Westcor Drive, just off I-80 at Highway 6 and is slated to open in the fall of 2010.

Theisen's is also planning to build a new 50,000 square foot store in Indianola, scheduled to open in 2011.

The new stores will give Theisen's 20 stores in Iowa

The opening of the three stores is expected to create 200 new jobs.

Theisen's believe's that the ideal time to build is now, even amidst a struggling economy, because they believe the economic recovery will happen.

Theisen’s will also launch a new internet sales website in the coming weeks.

Theisen’s is headquartered in Dubuque as Theisen Supply Inc..
