WASHINGTON (KWWL) -- Dozens of Iowa veterans are spending the day in Washington, D.C., touring military monuments.
The Honor Flight landed in Washington about 9:00 a.m. Iowa time Tuesday morning.
Forty-six Iowa veterans spent the day visiting sites honoring their service including the World War II Memorial and the Iwo Jima Memorial.
KWWL's Ron Steele traveled with the vets and will be filing reports and sending back pictures of the trip.
The Tuesday trip is being made possible, thanks to Honor Flight of the Quad-Cities, http://www.honorflightqc.com/ that’s a local chapter of the National Honor Flight Network. http://www.honorflight.org/
