WATERLOO (KWWL) -- The floods of 2008 wiped out 17 railroad bridges and hundreds of miles of track, but today the repairs are almost complete.
Monday Governor Chet Culver and Representative Bruce Braley were in Waterloo. They're celebrating the reopening of the Iowa Northern Railway bridge. A nearly 6 million dollar project.
Officials expect the first train to cross the bridge October 9th.
