Niang was one of 30 collegiate players invited to this year's camp.The junior to be will be they Cyclone's leading returning scorer after averaging 16.7 points per game last season. Iowa State All-American men’s basketball player Melvin Ejim was named ISU’s Male Athlete of the Year for 2013-14. Ejim, an All-American by five organizations, was the Big 12’s Player and Scholar-Athlete of the Year after helping the Cyclones to a 28-8 record, a Big 12 Tournament championship and an appearance in the Sweet 16. ISU's Thomas arrested for OWI

Iowa State freshman Matt Thomas was arrested by Ames police late Friday night and was charged with operating while intoxicated. Thomas is the second ISU player to be charged this spring. Ames police arrested Abdel Nader in April. He has since pleaded not guilty and will have a court date next month.Thomas, 19, issued an apology on Saturday via his twitter account. Nobody won the annual Cy-Hawk softball game on Wednesday. Darkness forced an end to the contest with the Hawkeyes and Cyclones tied at 6 apiece.
