Cedar Rapids (KWWL) - A new report says Iowa children may be exposed to some of the most toxic air in the country.
A study in USA Today finds that 224 Iowa Schools ranked in the top 10 percent of the most-toxic outdoor air. The study relied on 2005 Environmental Protection Agency emissions data.
The only eastern Iowa school on the list is Johnson Elementary School in Cedar Rapids.
It ranked 402 out of more than 127,000 schools. The study found that Johnson has a high content of cancer-causing toxins and chemicals in the air.
