DCI will investigate Waterloo Police Chief Tom Jennings

Posted:

WATERLOO (KWWL) -- KWWL-TV has learned that the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation will investigate Waterloo Police Chief Tom Jennings.

Sources say the investigation is in connection with an alleged physical altercation Wednesday night, involving Chief Jennings and a 16-year old Waterloo boy in the Chief's West Waterloo neighborhood.

Police spokesman John Beckman has confirmed the investigation will take place, but says he can't comment further, because the case has been turned over to the DCI to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest.

KWWL-TV has attempted to contact Chief Jennings, but we have been unable to get a statement from the Chief. He remains on the job.

The latest on the investigation tonight on the KWWL-TV News at 5 and 6.
