Hawkeye QB still up in the air

He started every game for Iowa a season ago. He took most of the reps with the first unit in the spring. The same held true in yesterday's scrimmage. But two weeks before the opener, Kirk Ferentz still isn't ready to call Jake Christensen his starting quarterback.

The battle continues between Jake and Rick Stanzi for the Hawkeyes starting job. Neither did much to separate himself during yesterday's scrimmage. The numbers were similar. Both threw touchdown passes. Both threw interceptions. Ferentz says its simply a holding pattern right now as he'll continue to evaluate before naming his number one QB.
