Danielle Wagner
KWWL Anchor/Reporter

I first knew I wanted to be a news reporter/anchor in second grade. I was at the Iowa State Invention Convention with my dad, and a reporter asked to interview me. I remember the reporter repeatedly told me to look at her, not the camera. Even then, I wanted to tell a story directly to the viewers, which is why I love my job.

I grew up in Oelwein; my parents still live there. Besides my parents, Dave and Melinda, I also have two younger brothers, Derek and Devin.

I graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in journalism and history and a minor in political science. I then took a reporting job at KTVO TV3 based in Kirksville, Missouri. I worked out of the station's bureau in Ottumwa, Iowa where I covered southeast Iowa.

I joined Iowa's News Channel Seven in December 2006. Living in Oelwein, I grew up watching this station, and I cannot express how great it feels to work here. I am very happy to be back, covering my hometown and your hometown.

When I'm not working, I'm out and about with my dog Cubbie.
