WATERLOO (KWWL) - Tyangus Denyel Deering was placed on escape status at 4:30 pm Friday after failing to return to the Waterloo work release facility from employment.

31 year-old Deering was transferred to work release from parole on May 19, 2009. His 10-year sentence for intimidation with a dangerous weapon began on March 8, 2006.

Information as to Deering's whereabouts should be reported to the Waterloo Police Department or Black Hawk County Sheriff's Department.  He is described as an African American male with black hair, brown eyes, 6'2" tall, 316 pounds. Deering has tattoos on his upper right arm, and left and right forearms.
