WAVERLY (KWWL)-- Waverly will get into the holiday season Thursday night with 'Christmas Greetings on Main.'
An opening ceremony begins at 5:45 p.m. at the Veteran's Tribute on the corner of West 4th Street and Bremer Avenue.
Around 40 storefronts are decorated with Christmas scenes. Visitors can stop in for hot cocoa at one of the ''hot spots.'' Santa will be visiting the area, while free horse drawn trolley rides will take place all night with pick up and drop off at Fareway. Events wrap up at 8 p.m.
This year, visitors can vote for their favorite window display using their cell phones. Signs will be placed in each window with instruction on how to vote using a text message. Winners will be announced on the Chamber of Commerce Web site on Friday morning.
Contact the Waverly Chamber of Commerce at 319-352-4526 for more information.
