
CHARLES CITY (KWWL) -- The Charles City Fire Department says an electrical wiring malfunction is to blame for a Friday morning house fire.
Firefighters responded to 906 Court Street in Charles City at about 8:35 a.m. when the owners noticed smoke inside.
The home is owned by Joseph and Jolene Hagarty.
Once on scene, firefighters found a fire in the attic and had the fire under control by about 9:15 a.m..
No one was injured and fire damage was contained to the attic area. The room below sustained light smoke and water damage.
