H1N1 vaccine clinic in Bremer County

WAVERLY (KWWL) -- H1N1 vaccines will be made available in Bremer County on Thursday.

The Visiting Nurses Association and Bremer County Public Health are teaming up to make the vaccine available on Thursday, December 3, 2009.

The clinic will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 2001 W. Bremer Avenue in Waverly.

The vaccine is available by appointment only, and the vaccine is only available for the following priority groups:

• pregnant women
• parents, siblings, or care providers for infants under 6 months of age
• health care and emergency medical services personnel
• children aged 6 months – 24 years and
• adults aged 25 -64 years with chronic medical conditions. Chronic medical conditions may include lung disease (asthma, COPD, emphysema), heart disease (except hypertension), kidney or liver disease, diabetes, neurologic or blood or immune illness.
