WASHINGTON (KWWL) -- Police in Washington have released the name of a man who died after he was found unconscious in a bar parking lot.
Robert Thomas Blankenship, 45 of Washington, was found unconscious in the parking lot of the Fourth Avenue Bar and Grill at 331 4th Avenue in Washington at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009.
Witnesses told police that there had been a fight in the area where Blankenship was found.
Blankenship was taken to Washington County Hospitals and then taken by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
He was pronounced dead a short time later.
The Washington City Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation continue to investigate the incident.
