Redeveloping the Corridor

MARION (KWWL) - Marion is embarking on an $11 million project to give its downtown a major facelift.

The city council voted six to one to approve what is called Concept D.

According to Marion Mayor Paul Rehn, this redevelopment option has the best potential for economic development.

Several businesses along 7th Ave. are opposed to a roundabout diverting traffic, but with the amount of engineering and planning this major project will need, it could be years before ground is even broken.
