
Ames (KWWL)Iowa State volleyball player Victoria Henson has been named the American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week. Henson becomes the first Cyclone to be honored by the AVCA since Erin Boeve in 2006.
Henson, a junior outside hitter, averaged 5.00 kills, 4.00 digs, 1.33 blocks and 5.92 points per set in ISU’s road sweeps of Texas A&M and Kansas State. She posted double-doubles in both matches, recording identical 15 kill-12 dig performances against the Aggies and Wildcats.
Against the Aggies, the Leavenworth, Kan. native added a solo block and four block assists as ISU won in College Station for just the second time in school history. She hit .355 against K-State and tacked on three block assists as ISU earned another sweep.
