Iowa sex offender sentenced on federal charges

DAVENPORT (KWWL) -- A former Iowa resident has been sentenced on federal charges for failing to register as a sex offender.

Kenneth Edwin Katzenburger, 33 of Port Byron, Il, was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison for one count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

He will also spend five years on supervised release following the prison sentence.

Katzebburger had registered as a sex offender with the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office back on December 18, 2006.

He registered an address in Colona, Il, but witnesses and documents showed him living in various addresses in Iowa.

Katzenburger never updated his registrtation with the new addresses until he was confronted by a Clinton County Sheriff's Deputy in October 2008.
