Friends, family gather to remember shooting victims

Posted:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -- It's been two years since a couple was shot in broad daylight in Waterloo.

On Nov. 2, 2007, 28 year-old Ronald Scullark, Jr. and 18 year-old Anissa Schroeder were killed while riding in Scullark's SUV in Waterloo.

"I miss him and I love him," Scullark's son said at a vigil Monday night.

Friends and family came together at the spot of the murders on West Donald Street. They held a vigil to remember Ronald and Anissa, and remind people of the violence that took place there, so it doesn't happen again.

"This year's a little more special even though its the second year because they finally get to rest in peace cause the person who committed it is behind bars and we know he's gone now," Schroeder's sister, Ashley Looby said.

Martaves Keys, of Waterloo, was sentenced to two life prison terms for the shootings.
