WATERLOO (KWWL) - Today is election day and there are numerous public measures, mayoral and city council races on the ballot. Polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
We're following several big races.
In the Waterloo mayor's race, current mayor Tim Hurley isn't seeking another term. Reggie Schmitt, Steve Schmitt and Buck Clark are vying for the position.
Two challengers are trying to unseat Jon Crews in the Cedar Falls mayor's race. Dave Sires and UNI student Gage Rewerts are running against the incumbent.
And in Cedar Rapids, Ron Corbett, Brian Fagan and P.T. Larson are squaring off to replace outgoing mayor Kay Halloran.
