PARKERSBURG (KWWL)-- After a natural disaster and now facing tough economic times, one community still finds a reason to give.
Kidquest, a Christian based daycare and preschool in Aplington, held it's annual pancake breakfast Sunday morning.
The money raised will help pay for new playground equipment for the facility.
Kidquest serves several communities including Aplington, Parkersburg, Ackley, Wellsburg, and Allison.
Volunteers hope to raise $5,000 five from Sunday's breakfast.
"The people that have been in the community forever have been born and raised here and move in here and they feel that community... Our turnout has been great and we appreciate it very much," said Galene Harken of Kidquest.
To help raise additional funds, Kidquest created and is selling their very own cookbook.
Recipes were created by parents with input from their kids. If you would like purchase a copy you can contact Kidquest in Aplington.
