Bank Robbery Suspect Makes First Court Appearance

Des Moines (KWWL) -- The Eastern Iowa man accused of a bank robbery spree throughout Central Iowa, made his first court appearance today.

Jason Lee Bowers, 33 of South Amana, went before U.S. Magistrate Judge Ross A. Walters.

Bowers is accused of robbing the South Story Bank in Slater on October 9th, Farmers and Merchants State Bank in St. Charles on October 16th, Peoples Bank and Trust in Rippey on October 17th and First Trust Savings Bank in Oxford on October 21st.

Bowers was arrested on Friday, October 23rd.

He remains in custody pending further court dates.
