
TAMA (KWWL) - Dubuque recieved four awards Thursday afternoon at the Iowa Tourism Conference's annual state-wide award presentation. The four awards include: The Dubuque Convention & Visitors Bureau recieved the Hospitality in Tourism Award for the CSI: Dubuque Program, The Dubuque Convention & Visitors Bureau recieved the Event of the Year Award for the America's River Festival, Dubuque County received the County of the Year award and the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium received the Attraction of the Year.
The Tourism Office presents 19 awards throughout the state. Submissions are judged on innovative use of customer service, outstanding performance, economic impact, involvement in local, regional and state tourism initiatives and effective marketing.
The annual three day conference, sponsored by the Iowa Tourism Office and the Travel Federation of Iowa, brings together more than 300 industry representatives from across the state to network, attend educational sessions and discuss emerging industry trends.
