Teenager accused in Ill. motel killing

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- An East St. Louis teenager is accused of killing a Missouri man found dead last weekend in a motel room in southwestern Illinois.

St. Clair County prosecutors charged 17-year-old Danielle Washington on Wednesday with first-degree murder.

Authorities allege that she shot 33-year-old Octavio Contreras of Rolla, Mo. His body was found Sunday at the Royal Relax Inn in Fairmont City.

Jeff Connor of the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis says Contreras was a concrete worker who was visiting a friend in the area.
