FAYETTE COUNTY (KWWL) - The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is investigating a string of robberies in the towns of Hawkeye and West Union.

Investigators had several reports of robberies that happened in the early-morning hours Tuesday in Hawkeye.

Authorities later received reports of similar activity in the town of West Union during the early-morning hours of Wednesday.

Fayette County Sheriff Marty Fisher said he believes the robberies in the two towns are connected in some way.

He's asking anybody with information about the rash of robberies to contact the Fayette County Sheriff's Department at 563.422.6067.
