ONALASKA, WI (KWWL) -- Police in Onalaska, Wisconsin are investigating the theft of a 250 pound pumpkin.

It happened just after 3 Monday morning. Ben Garbers says his wife woke up and saw a blue hatchback drive away with their pumpkin.

The couple has two young children who helped raise the pumpkin. Garbers says his three year old son doesn't understand why someone would take the pumpkin.

Despite the theft, the family plans to grow another large pumpkin next year.
