
WAVERLY (KWWL) - Dr. Darrel D. Colson will be inaugurated as the 17th president of Wartburg College during festivities on Oct. 16.
Delegates from nearly 75 colleges and universities will attend the ceremony at 2:30 p.m. in Neumann Auditorium. It will be immediately followed by a reception on Hamm Platz/Scofield Weg, outside the auditorium.
The public is invited to both events.
The homecoming inaugural dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. in Knights Ballroom in the Saemann Student Center. Tickets have been sold out.
Colson, 54, officially began his duties July 1. He was formerly provost and dean at Centenary College of Louisiana in his native Shreveport. He previously taught at Western Carolina University, the Louisiana Scholars' College at Northwestern State University and Pepperdine University. He has a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University, and a master's degree and doctorate from Vanderbilt University.
