PARKERSBURG (KWWL) - One man is in custody, after he was seen carrying what appeared to be a gun near the Parkersburg Elementary School Thursday.
Butler County Sheriff, Jason Johnson, confirms authorities arrested the man near the Parkersburg Elementary School, but the gun turned out to be only an air pistol.
20-year-old Anthony Dann was taken into custody without incident and no one was hurt.
The incident could have created a bit of a scare, since the Parkersburg community is likely still very much on edge, following the murder of Aplington-Parkersburg teacher and football coach, Ed Thomas, on June 24.
In this case, Sheriff Johnson says no shots were fired from the air pistol, but authorities arrested the man without further incident.
