IOWA CITY (KWWL) - Broadway will soon have an Iowa star on its stage.
Iowa-city native Alex Ko will play "Billy Elliot" in the ongoing production of the 2009 Tony-award winning best musical.
Alex was featured in September 2008 on KWWL's "Someone You Should Know."
Previously, he was the youngest student admitted to the University of Iowa Dance Department at age 12.
He will be the 5th boy to play the role of "Billy" on Broadway.
He beat-out a host of hopefuls to win the part.
His performances begin the week of October 5th.
