Domestic disturbance leads to a stabbing

DELAWARE COUNTY (KWWL) -- The Sheriff's Office says two people are in the hospital after a man stabbed a woman and himself.

The Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on College Street in Hopkinton just before midnight on Tuesday.

Sharon Matson, 29, was taken to the University of Iowa Hospital with several stab wounds.

The suspect, 36 year-old Juan Cobo Perez, was taken into police custody and was also transported to the UIHC with a self-inflicted stab wound.

The Sheriff's Office continues to investigate.
