
SIGOURNEY (AP)--A rural Sigourney man who pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of his father has been sentenced to two years in prison.
Thirty-two-year-old Kenneth E. Lundy was initially charged with voluntary manslaughter in the death of his father, Kenneth W. Lundy. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
He was sentenced to the maximum charge for involuntary manslaughter on Monday in Keokuk County District Court.
The younger Lundy was accused of shooting his father after an argument outside a rural Sigourney home on April 2.
Lundy had originally filed paperwork claiming the shooting was in self-defense.
