GARNER, Iowa-- A new ordinance in Garner will allow police to test teens for alcohol consumption even if containers aren't in plain sight.
The new rule states that a teen that tests positive for alcohol would be in considered in possession because alcohol was in their system.
The Garner City Council approved the ordinance Tuesday night.
The Hancock County board of supervisors passed a similar ordinance and is expected to approve it later this month.
