BUTLER COUNTY (KWWL) -- Public health officials say E. coli was found in the water supply on Monday and residents need to boil their water before drinking it.
The Butler County Health Department says E. coli indicates the water may be contaminated with human or animal waste. Symptoms of sickness include diarrhea, cramps, nausea, and headaches. People with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of becoming sick.
Officials say to bring all water to a boil, let stand for one minute, and then cool before using.
The health department will notified residents when tests show the water is safe again.
