WATERLOO (KWWL) - Iowa's economy is one of the fastest growing in the country.
The Bureau of Economic Analysis released new statistics that show Iowa's Gross Domestic Product grew 2.12-percent in 2008. This puts Iowa ninth in the U.S., and more than 2-percent higher than the national GDP.
Governor Culver says this shows Iowa is prepared to weather the economic storm, and his I-jobs initiative will keep the trend going.
The first meeting for the job creation program will be Wednesday, to begin allocating the first round of funds.
