Posted: Updated:

OELWEIN (KWWL) - A postal worker was attacked and bit by a dog Monday afternoon in Oelwein.

We're told Al Schlumbohm of Stanley was bit in the cheek and mouth by the dog. Schlumbohm was taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo and needed more than 20 stitches.

Investigators tell us that the dog has been taken by animal control and the owners are cooperating with police.
